For Cynthia Mo, a fascination with science and early exposure to orthodontia sparked an interest in dentistry. She says her strong work ethic and good attitude got her through dental school and are a big part of what makes her an excellent fit for her chosen career. “I love my job! I get to work with patients of all ages on a daily basis, diagnosing oral health issues and communicating with them to achieve beautiful smiles.”
Born Des Moines, Iowa, Dr. Mo currently lives and works in Salina, Kansas. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Integrative Physiology at the University of Iowa in 2012, pursued and received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at University of Iowa College of Dentistry in May of 2016, and has continued her education extensive training in dental implants and oral conscious sedation. Dr. Mo is a dedicated member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Crown Council, and is excited to be a part of the New Horizons dental family.
“I absolutely love this practice’s teamwork and comradery. I know I can start the day off knowing everyone has a happy-to-do-it attitude. It often doesn’t feel like “work” because it’s such a fun group of individuals to be around. The best part of every day is seeing my patients’ reactions after handing them a mirror and watching them view their new smile for the very first time. Nothing compares!”
When she’s not loving every minute of her job, Dr. Mo can be found trying out local restaurants to try different cuisines, or venturing to nearby cities to enjoy a concert with friends. She volunteers with Mission of Mercy and Habitat for Humanity, and passionately supports the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. She also has an extensive bucket list which includes traveling to Taiwan to spend quality time with her grandmother, hiking Machu Picchu, sky diving in Australia, camping in New Zealand, and lounging in a bungalow in Bora Bora – just to name a few.
